The Consistometer is used to determine the consistency of viscous materials by measuring the distance that the material flows under its own weight in a given time interval. The instrument allows producers of products such as as jellies, preserves, sauces, etc., to predetermine precise and reliable formulas for their product and to standardize production lots.

The consistometer is manufactured with high quality 316 grade acid resistant stainless steel and has laser etched 0.5cm markings.

The sample is placed in a 100ml reservoir behind a sprung gate before the measurement begins.

Adheres to the international ASTM F1080-93 standard.
